Southern Girl and more
I know, it’s a very long time ago that I announced to post a video of my Southern Girl cover here and I promised to not forget it. I indeed trained playing it regularly in the last months, but the reason I did not post a video was that it’s just damn hard to play. In addition, I found just playing it on guitar too boring, so I also started singing along. What you see here is the result of about two hours of trying to get a decent recording, which I did not even try for several months. So I hope you enjoy it (despite small mistakes here and there
).
And to keep you on top, here is my next announcement
Last week, I bought a bass in the music shop around the corner (in Minhang), the same place I also bought my guitar.
It is a very nice instrument and the first song I learn to play is one that I wanted to play on bass for a very long time: It is the song “Kinky Reggae” by Bob Marley and The Wailers (I play the Jamaica version from the album Catch A Fire). To introduce this great song to you, I link it here from YouTube (although it’s the UK version of the song, which is quite similar):
This is going to be a play-along to the original song, because playing bass alone is not very intersting
Other than playing bass, I am mainly preparing for exams and reports these days (or should I mention it the other way around?!
), so there is not much to write about. But I guess there will be some things soon, because the Europe Cup is running and Germany is in straight direction to winning it
This will also be the time to do some reporting about “tha guys from ba hao lou (building no. 8)”
So stay tuned!
